The Queen City of the South, Cebu is said to be a place that is "almost like Manila," but has its own unique charm and wonders. You will find city comfort without being far from spectacular beach resorts where you can relax or go for a swim or dive.

Cebu attracts hundreds of tourists who come to celebrate the famous, Sinulog festival, every 3rd weekend of January. This festival honors Sto. Nino, the Christ Child, as devotees shout, "Viva Pit Senyor!"

Magellan's Cross, signifies the baptism of the Rajah Humabon and Queen Juana to Christianity.

Sto. Nino Basilica and Museum, off Osmena Avenue, was built in 1565 and houses the country's oldest religious relic, the Image of Holy Child Jesus or Sto. Nino.

Fort San Pedro. The smallest fort and the oldest Spanish settlement in the Philippines.

Lapu-Lapu Monument. Statue of the first Filipino leader to fight Spanish colonization.

Casa Gorordo Museum. Exhibits paintings, religious relics and antique household and furniture, romantic courtyard.

Taoist Temple. People go to the temple to light joss sticks, have their fortune read or to simply think and reflect.

Mactan Island is a place where visitors will find a wide range of beach resorts. Mactan is a coral island ideal for scuba diving or just plain relaxation on the sand.
If you like to have a taste of authentic Cebu cooking, try STK or "Sinugba-Tinola-Kinilaw" (grilled, stewed or vinegared). You choose the fresh catches of the day and have it cooked in an eatery. Don't forget to try Cebu's delectable lechon. For pasalubong, don't forget to get Otap, a flaky biscuit, and the different dried fruits, the most popular of which is the dried mango. For the musically-inclined, Cebu is also noted for its guitars.
